Ryan-- "On August 22nd, six innocent people were brutally murdered, including one Officer Gary Clark. While it is understandable and laudable for the Detroit Police to passionately pursue justice for the victims, including their fallen brother, this personal connection has robbed them of their diligence and impartiality. Mr. Mills has been treated unfairly, railroaded, and been denied access to the unbiased mental health care that he desperately needs. He will have his day in court and he will be acquitted. Thank you."

Reporter- "Thank you very much, Mr. Brandeis-White. I think today will be very enlightening for us all." She stepped away, hungry for the next interviewee. Did you pause to ponder this at all, or did you go inside and out of the cold weather?

I tarried on the lawn, awaiting arrival of my client. . I think that interview went alright. I didn't make any direct accusations of impropriety, but I hopefully cast a shadow of doubt about the integrity of the investigation.

Having had to park halfway around the asshole of the neighborhood, Colt and Butcher had arrived. Butcher slipped into the house, the way he does, and Colt talked with cops on the scene to see about getting rid of the reporter infestation...
I didn't want this to be a harangue, but it was hard to hear without raised voices.
Colt- "C'mon, man, this is a joke. You have to be able to move these people further back."

Lame Cop- "Yeah, we're trying..." Just like that, the reporter advanced on you. Reporter- "Detective Colt, sources say you questioned Timothy Mills as a teenager? Did he show signs of what he would become?"

Thanks for nothin' pal.
I wheeled on the reporter.
Colt- "I have one thing to say. If you care about justice being served, you'll stop messing with the case by dragging it out in public. Get outta here."
I went inside.

The members of the expedition filtered in, leaving only stragglers and guards trying to keep out looky-loos and weirdos.

The front door guards made way for Mills and his entourage. Butcher made
up the back, helping people along, while Colt led the way.
You could see about half a block down, Detective Rodriguez and some cops
trying to hold off a small crowd of teenagers. Mostly girls, but a couple young
boys in the mix. They wore a mix of 'alternative' styles, some of them just in
drab black sweatshirts. They were soaking wet, pelted by the slushy rain.
On Mills's exit-- they screamed like they were at a boy band concert. They
screamed his name and some bizarre garbled syllables. He smiled at them,
eyes wide and crazed even with slush landing on his head and dripping down his face. Timothy- "̢͓̈́אני҉͠ ̢כבר לא ͓̈́כאן. ҉̈́͠זה לא אני̢."
It surely wasn't loud enough for the kids to hear, yet they quieted. The cops pushed
them further away and they allowed it, pliant as dolls. Detective Rodriguez- "Okay! Okay, come on everyone..."
The prisoner transport was ready for you, Officer Milton ready to help with loading.
The rest of you would have to make it to your cars through the icy rain. It was getting
so dark you'd likely need to hold onto your flashlight.

I waited near the bus, watching everybody get in before anything else. I shielded my eye from the rain with a puffy trenchcoat sleeve, but was still soggy as hell. I really felt like discharging my firearm.
Colt- "Nobody say nuttin' ta nobody!"

Harriet- I did not need to be told twice, though I stuck around Detective Rodriguez. No questions answered today, besides that our suspect enjoyed mind games. I look at the puzzle pieces through the plastic and wonder what went on in that house to explain all the strange changes. It surely must be something logical.

I looked warily towards the small crowd of girls and young boys as I exited. These unfortunately would be my main audience for my novel. I felt awful thinking that at least I could count on them to buy my book or at least shoplift it.I ran like clappers to my car in too much of a hurry to bother with my umbrella. Sorry Giselle. Once in my car I took off for the next site like the devil.

Even after the group went quiet Fran and I were at our most vigilant. Us two worked efficiently together and took our seats soon as we were done. Gerald - "Do you think Timothy has been in contact with those kids online? I mean, is that how they knew about the puzzle?"

Gerald--Officer Milton- "Huh, I don't think he had computer access. Probably just creepy fan girls, don't know how they found out about today though."
Timothy- "They're just ̡̻̽҉ שיריל҉̻̿͢., they won't bother you." He still smiled, his posture relaxed as you moved him about.Edmund--
You got in your car, the windows utterly smeared with the crystallizing sleet.
There was a road block ahead, letting vehicles through at a painfully slow pace.
A cop strolled up, safe under a big umbrella, and knocked on your window. Cop- "Hey, you Dr. Bassett? Someone's been calling for you." Harriet--
Rodriguez was busy trying to help the cops with the barricade, but he noticed you. Detective Rodriguez- "Hey there, Harriet, right? Car's unlocked if you don't mind waiting a minute. Shouldn't be too long..."
Technically you should probably surrender the puzzle to someone, but it wasn't
clear who that would be, and besides, maybe you could still figure something out
about it. The bag felt heavier the longer you held it, maybe it was gathering water
as you stood outside.
Detective Rodriguez's car wasn't far away, and the passenger seat was unlocked.
Maybe you could stay out of the rain and consider that puzzle while you waited... ((Describe to me how you might consider the puzzle, or if you decide to not look at it.
Then I'd like you to roll 2d10+Willpower ))

I winded my window down and braced for the cold.My heart dropped in my stomach. Hopefully it was just a telemarketer...Edmund- ”Uh yeah that’s me. Thanks.Who is it?”
Cop- "Some lady, doesn't leave her name. Keeps calling the station asking for you, but doesn't want to leave a message."
Edmund- “Diane? Might be one of my clients. How did she sound? Do you have my phone or a phone I can use?”
Cop- "Sorry, just got the radio. Maybe you can stop at the Shell Station down on Jefferson."
Edmund- “You too huh? Seems they don’t trust any of us. Will do. Thanks again.”
Damn it. This was going to slow everything down. I hoped it was important. Luckily I kept a phone book in my car. These kids today relied too heavily on technology. I made sure Tabby knew our numbers from heart. He went on to... horrorboys.proboards.com/thread/1044/16-30-edmund-bassett-station
